In Social Studies (s.s) we were took a test on China and were in our groups working on our projects for the three gorges dam. We are going to do a presentations about the three gorges dam. We each have our own speaking parts. One half of the room is going to be against the project by speaking about the reasons why it is a bad choice to build the dam. And the other half of the room is going to tell the reasons why it is a good choice.
Today in science class I got a notebook on the nervous system. We read threw it and answered questions. Our homework assignment is to write a paragraph on the nervous system.
Varanasi and the ganges The ganges is a river that people pray in. These people who pray in the ganges belong to the Hindu religion. The ganges is a very dirty river. Click here to see my blog translated to Italian. The Population of Italy is about 58,132,509 people. Some of the Italians holidays are Epiphany,(January 6th) Liberation day,(April 25th) and Immaculate conception(December 8th). But they also celebrate American holidays like Christmas, All saints day and Easter.Italian is the official language but other languages are spoken like German and French. The climate in Italy has mild rainy winters and hot dry summers. Italy is located in Southern Europe. It is a little bit larger than Arizona. The major meal is eaten in the afternoon. If you are planning on going to Italy any time soon, all you need is a passport, U.S. and Canadian citizens. Last but not least there money is a Euro. One American dollar equals .81 of an American
I think Egyptian hieroglyphics are really cool!!! It’s weird to think about how ancient Egyptians drew hieroglyphics like 21st century things. Such as the helicopter or the UFO. It is very weird. Click here to get an English to hieroglyphics translator. Ancient Egyptians had over 2,000 symbols. A hieroglyphic is a type of symbol writing.
The worlds oil is running out! there are only 2.6 trillion barrels left. 1.7 out of the 2.6 trillion barrels is oil that geologists have found but not yet pumped out. The other 900 billion barrels is oil that geologists have not yet discovered but think there is. Once the oil has ran out, people will start to drive hybrid cars. Like the minicat which runs on compressed air.
I believe I can fly! I believe I can touch the sky!
Dear Lacy, I just came back from the wonderful country Turkey! It was sooooooooooo fun! I did many great things, such as try the delicious candy Turkish delight. I also learned about the Ottoman Empire. I know this may sound boring, but it is actually quite interesting. So you better not throw this letter away, thinking the Ottoman Empire is boring. Lacy? Lacy? Lacyyyyyyyyy? Well, moving on. The Ottoman Empire lasted from 1299 to 1922. Thats one old country. It is surprising to think about how it expanded through three continents! Thats huge, Lacy! Even Bigger than your fat dog Spike. Moving on (again) the Ottoman Empire expanded through South Eastern Europe, the middle East and North Africa. It went through the strait of Gibraltar, in the West, all the way to the Caspian sea, to the Eastern Persian gulf, from the edge of the country Austria and Slovakia, in Northern Sudan and also the South of Yemen. Without a doubt, the Ottoman Empire was one of the most powerful countries in the World! The people who lived there at the time (the Ottomans) started to see themselves as rulers of a “Universal Empire”. To both Roman and also Islamic traditions. It’s interesting to learn that the Ottoman Empire was the center of interactions in-between Eastern and Western worlds for 600 years. You better not be about to throw this letter away, Lacy. Oh well. The Ottoman Empire was marked as the “golden age” by Suleium the magnificent. Surprisingly, the Ottoman Empire was the only Islamic power of Western Europe in-between the 15th and also the 19th centuries, to actually challenge the escalating power with Istanbul (or Constantinople) as it’s capital. The Empire was in some of the respects that an Islamic success of the earlier Mediterranean Empires. Which was the Roman and Byzantine Empires. Sadly, the Ottoman Empire slowly died out, happening in the 19th century when it met it’s sad days during World War 1.Bye Lacy. Your friend, Liza. www.wikipedia/OttomanEmpire.com

Giving is better than receiving. When I see joy in people after they opened the gift I got them, the joy comes to me. I feel better when someone gets something big, and I get something small. Giving is better than receiving. When I get something expensive, and someone gets something cheap, I don’t feel good about myself. Giving is better than receiving. Christmas is my favorite time of year, so I can give something back, that they have already given to me. (www.clipartguide.com)
I love putting pictures of cool things on my blog, but here is some information about lightning. How lightning is formed: Scientists are still trying to figure out how lightning is formed. One idea is that lightning is created by ejection.Particles by the sun, which come to Earth by solar wind. The charged particles cause the Earth to acquire an electric charge in the outer atmospheric layers. Mostly in the ionosphere. Big quantities of ice in the clouds are suspected to increase lightning development. That charge will neutralize itself through any path that it can take. That may assist in the force-able separation of positive and negative charge carriers in a cloud or the air and to help in the formation of lightning. Another idea is that falling droplets of ice and also rain, become electrically polarized as they drop through the atmospheres natural eleonite field. Colliding ice particles come charged by electrostatic induction.www.moonraker.com

If I could go any where in the world I would go to Italy. I would go to Italy to do a bunch of fun things. It would be really cool if I could meet my pen pal! I would explore the ancient castles. I would learn the Italian language. I would eat the Italian food and do what Italians do. I would be just like them! It would ride in a boat in-between the buildings.
How come nobody reads the book green eggs and ham? I mean come on give DR. Seuss a break!I know I’m almost twelve but that book rocks. The rhymes are awesome! ” I- am -Sam, I -am- Sam, Sam- I -am”! “That Sam- I- am, that Sam- I- am I do not like that Sam-I-am. “Do you like green eggs and ham”? I do not like green eggs and ham’. “I do like them Sam-I-am”. “I do not like green eggs and ham”. Give that book a second chance!
You lose about 10,000 to 100,000 brain cells a day. Hot water weighs less than cold water. Dust and dust mites make up about 25% the weight of an old pillow. Every person has a unique tongue print. In your life you shed about 40 pounds of dead skin. By age 65 an average person would have seen about 2 million commercials. Lightning strikes at about 6,000 times per minute on Earth. In Albania shaking your head means yes and nodding your head means no. The coldest temperature measured on earth was -129 degrees Fahrenheit, thats -89 degrees Celsius- In Vostalk Antarctica. Any month that starts on a Sunday will have a Friday the 13th. One of the strongest muscles in the body is the tongue.
